The Urbangrid project is on display, combining design experimentation with advanced outdoor systems
During Milan Design Week 2026, MV Line is participating as a partner in the Officina event, a project organised by Oneworks and hosted at the architectural practice’s Milan office. Conceived as a platform for design experimentation, Officina represents the evolution of an integrated approach to design, in which architecture and product develop synergistically. The project also constitutes the first concrete expression of the Interior Concept & Product Design Division, led by architect Andrea Sanguineti.
Architecture becomes a generative matrix for systems that connect space and product, including furniture, lighting, technical elements and spatial devices, all conceived as part of a single coherent ecosystem. The Officina exhibition therefore aims to recreate an open laboratory that brings to light the co-design process between Oneworks and a network of partner companies.
Within this context, and as a partner of the event, MV Line presents Urbangrid, a modular system designed for contemporary public spaces. The result of a collaboration with Oneworks and MV Line’s expertise in aluminium extrusion, the project is based on a self-supporting structure, designed to be flexible, reconfigurable and fully reversible, functioning as a device capable of generating comfort.
– Urbangrid, a new vision of urban infrastructure
The system is based on a self-supporting aluminium grid, requiring no permanent fixings, which can be installed, dismantled and reconfigured over time. The columns and asymmetrical extrusions allow for precise adaptation to the surroundings: urban spaces, natural parks, and irregularly shaped squares. The structure houses sunshades, lighting, energy systems and connectivity. These are not merely shelters, but environmental installations capable of providing shade, comfort and services. Aluminium, being lightweight and recyclable, ensures durability and sustainability.
MV Line’s Urbangrid presents a new concept of urban infrastructure: technical, adaptive and culturally sensitive, capable of enhancing the quality of public space without imposing rigid or permanent forms.
The aim of the Officina event is to showcase the interaction between objects, integrated lighting systems, seating, canopies and shared infrastructure, conceived as lightweight and modular solutions that organise complex environments with flexibility and clarity. The exhibition therefore presents the products within a temporary architectural installation created using reused industrial materials, to create flexible and reversible urban structures.
MV Line is thus renewing its participation in Fuorisalone, reaffirming its commitment to exploring new ways of telling the product’s story. The collaboration with Oneworks represents an approach to the project that aims to highlight research and design culture within an international context that sets the standard for contemporary design.
In line with a circular design approach, the Officina installation will be dismantled and reused at the end of the event.
